Job Description

As a Certified Nursing Assistant at Upscale Staffing, you will play a crucial role in the daily care and support of patients across various healthcare environments. CNAs are vital members of our healthcare team, providing essential services that ensure the comfort and safety of patients. This position requires a compassionate individual who can perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of nursing and medical staff, assisting patients with basic healthcare needs, maintaining patient hygiene, and ensuring that each patient receives quality care with dignity and respect.

Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Support patient mobility, including helping patients walk, transferring them using assistive devices, and repositioning them in bed.
  • Ensure the environment is safe and clean, managing supplies and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams to ensure cohesive care.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient’s condition or behavior to the supervisory nurse.
  • Assist with medical procedures as required and within certified limits.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and policies to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; completion of a state-approved CNA certification course.
  • Valid CNA license to practice in the state.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a patient and compassionate approach.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, such as lifting and moving patients.

Working Conditions

  • Work in a dynamic healthcare environment which may require long hours and varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exposure to health risks and conditions typical of a healthcare setting, including exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects or individuals, and performing repetitive tasks.
